Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Attends Opening Ceremony of ‘Nowon Youth Culture Salon 5120’
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the opening ceremony of the ‘Nowon Youth Culture Salon 5120’ held at the underground youth hideout of Nowon Gongneung Happy Housing in Seoul at 3 p.m. on the 5th.
‘Culture Salon 5120’ is a type of youth hideout created to discover young artistic creators in the area and to form a network of young artists. It was named Culture Salon 5120 after the address, 51-gil 20, Gongneung-ro.
The district plans to use this space to support the growth of young cultural and artistic talents in the area, while also operating various cultural and artistic programs and events for residents.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, city council members, Park Deok-gyu, Director of the Korea Culture Technology Institute, heads of local youth facility centers, and others. The event proceeded with a progress report, center introduction, greetings, a congratulatory performance by the fusion gugak group ‘Tal’, exhibition introduction, commemorative photo session, and a tour of the exhibition hall led by artist Jeon Young-jin.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I hope this place will be used as a cultural enjoyment space where Nowon youth can enjoy, create, challenge, and grow their dreams together. We will continue to spare no support to make Nowon a district where young people want to stay.”
