The Hallyu Expo is an export marketing event that combines the promotion of products from our small and medium-sized enterprises with the Korean Wave. It is actively utilized as a representative Hallyu marketing platform to supplement the insufficient overseas recognition of our products and to increase the interest of local consumers and buyers in the process of diversifying export markets.
The Hallyu Expo is jointly hosted by five government ministries ? the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ? along with KOTRA and five related organizations including the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, and the Korea Tourism Organization. The event will conduct export consultations and Hallyu-linked marketing targeting a total of 122 companies in the consumer goods, services, and K-advanced industries sectors. It also plans to focus on creating export-oriented results by promoting O2O sales of products listed on Amazon Germany and Olive Young’s direct overseas shopping mall.
KARD and STAYC will work to enhance the positive image of the Hallyu Expo and our products through various activities such as the opening performance on the 29th, fan signing events, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Yoo Jung-yeol, president of KOTRA, said, “We are pleased to appoint the globally loved K-pop groups KARD and STAYC as ambassadors for the Hallyu Expo, which will serve as an opportunity to widely promote the excellence of our products and services.” He added, “Through the participation of these proud Hallyu stars, we hope our companies will gain momentum in entering the European market and that business exchanges between Korea and Germany will further expand.”
