"With love pressed firmly at the tip of the brush, the village comes alive."
The students' skillful craftsmanship was completely transforming the village's colors. Men and women wearing straw hats were proudly filling baskets with wildflowers and fruits. The mural seemed to be speaking to the villagers.
Advertising club 'GAD', mainly composed of students from the Visual Design Department at Gyeongnam Jeonbo University (President Kim Dae-sik), recently participated in a community contribution project and carried out mural painting volunteer work.
The mural painting volunteer work took place on an old retaining wall in Gwaenae Village, Sasang-gu, Busan. About ten students continued the colors of love and service along a long wall approximately 50 meters in length.
By directly changing the living environment of the neighboring village, the students became accustomed to contributing to the community.
Park Hee-seon, a student from the Visual Design Department at Gyeongnam Jeonbo University who participated in the volunteer work, said with a smile, "I think it was a meaningful volunteer activity that utilized my major. Seeing the local elders happy with the completed mural gives me a sense of fulfillment."
Choi Dong-cheol, a professor in the Visual Design Department and the supervising professor, said, "It was a meaningful field class where students and I served the local community near the university. We will continue various volunteer activities by leveraging the students' abilities."
This volunteer activity was conducted as part of the LINC3.0 project.
Students from the Visual Design Department at Gyeongnam Information College are volunteering to paint murals in the neighboring village of the university.
