Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it is recruiting 60 ‘2023 Summer Vacation University Student Administrative Interns’ until the 9th.
The district operates university student administrative interns twice a year so that university students can gain various social experiences by directly experiencing administrative work and participating in district administration during summer and winter vacations.
Administrative interns are assigned to the district office, public health center, community service centers, and local libraries, considering participants’ majors and residences comprehensively, and will be responsible for administrative support tasks for one month in July.
This summer vacation, a total of 60 students will be recruited. Eligible applicants are university students or students on leave of absence who are registered residents of Songpa-gu as of the announcement date (May 26, 2023) or university students or students on leave of absence attending universities located in Songpa-gu. However, students of remote universities, computer institutes, lifelong education centers, and those who worked as university student administrative interns during the 2023 summer vacation, 2022 winter or summer vacations, or 2021 summer vacation are excluded.
Among the 60 selected students, 15 will be given priority selection if they belong to any of the following categories: ▲basic livelihood security recipients and their children ▲legally designated low-income groups and their children ▲registered persons with disabilities ▲North Korean defectors and their children ▲national merit recipients and their children ▲families with three or more children ▲single-parent families.
The working period is from July 3 to July 31, 2023, working five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The allowance is based on the ‘2023 Songpa-gu Living Wage,’ paying 55,785 KRW per day and 1,380,000 KRW for full attendance.
Additionally, the district plans to operate a ‘District Administration Experience Week’ for the administrative intern participants. Participants can choose district administration themes such as jobs, education, tourism, and environment to experience district administration directly in groups, and will also serve as promotional ambassadors. Outstanding groups will be awarded commendations in the future.
Furthermore, all administrative intern participants will receive ‘CPR and Safety Evacuation Training’ necessary for crisis response in case of disasters or emergencies to enhance their preparedness.
University students wishing to apply for the administrative intern program can apply online through the Songpa-gu website by June 9. The final selection will be made by a public lottery at 10:30 a.m. on June 13, and the final results will be announced on the same day at 5 p.m. on the district website.
