Samsung Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee Presents Customized Home Appliance Solutions in 'Bespoke Life'

'Bespoke Life 2023' Event to Be Held on the 7th

Han Jong-hee, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics and Head of the DX Division, is set to showcase the present and future of Samsung home appliances at the 'Bespoke Life 2023' event to be held on the 7th.

In an article titled "Samsung Home Appliances' Vision for a Sustainable Future in the Hyperconnected Era," posted on Samsung Electronics Newsroom on the 5th, Vice Chairman Han stated, "Consumers' lifestyles and values are changing as rapidly as technological advancements," adding, "This year, Samsung home appliances aim to offer customized solutions that align with the values and lifestyles pursued by individuals through sustainability, connectivity, and design."

Samsung Electronics will hold the 'Bespoke Life 2023' global event online on the 7th. Through this global event, Samsung plans to emphasize hyperconnectivity and personalization, unveiling a hyper-customized bespoke business strategy with segmented standards. The premium home appliance lineup, 'Bespoke Infinite,' is also expected to be introduced.

Vice Chairman Han said, "The Bespoke Life introduced this year pursues sustainability as a more important value than ever before," adding, "Samsung Electronics is reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire product lifecycle?from development, manufacturing, distribution, usage, service, to disposal?and plans to expand the application of SmartThings' 'AI Saving Mode' technology to 65 countries within the year, enabling easy energy savings across various product categories."

He continued, "To reduce microplastic emissions, we are collaborating with the global eco-friendly outdoor brand Patagonia to launch not only a 'Microplastic Reduction Washing Course' but also a 'Microplastic Reduction Filter,'" adding, "We aim to help customers reduce harmful microplastic emissions generated during laundry."

Connectivity through 'SmartThings' was also emphasized. Vice Chairman Han explained, "Samsung Electronics is evolving the SmartThings platform through advanced AI technology to provide customers with more personalized, intuitive, and convenient experiences," noting, "All newly launched Bespoke products will be equipped with Wi-Fi functionality and enhanced Knox security technology. Additionally, more than 20 automation modes will be applied to enable easy use of home appliances."

Personalized design will also be maximized. Vice Chairman Han stated, "The value pursued by Bespoke is to broaden the range of choices so that each customer can more boldly express their own tastes and values," mentioning, "The limited-edition Bespoke refrigerator panels created through a partnership with Italy's creative studio TOILETPAPER, launched this time, will make our daily lives vibrant and immersive."
