Additional electric cargo vehicles will be supplied in Ulsan in the first half of this year. The total number of vehicles supported is 150 units, including general and priority allocations.
The general and priority supply volume of electric cargo vehicles for the first half of this year was 340 units, but since they have already been exhausted, an additional 150 units will be supplied this time.
The purchase subsidy varies by vehicle type, with a maximum of 15.6 million KRW (12 million KRW from the national government and 3.6 million KRW from the city government) provided for small vehicles.
The priority vehicles eligible for additional supply include vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, low-income households), independent merit recipients with disabilities, families with multiple children (raising three or more children born after January 1, 2005), first-time vehicle buyers (those who have not owned a car since turning 18), buyers of vehicles with high fine dust reduction effects, and small business owners.
The application method requires the buyer to sign a purchase contract with the vehicle manufacturer or importer, who then applies through the Ministry of Environment's Zero-Emission Vehicle Integrated Website.
Eligibility for application includes citizens residing in Ulsan for more than 90 days as of the application date, as well as corporations and businesses with offices located in Ulsan.
An official from Ulsan City said, “We are promoting subsidy support projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fine dust, so we encourage active participation.”
Ulsan City is implementing a total of 2,030 units (1,333 passenger cars, 690 cargo vehicles, and 7 vans) of the ‘Electric Vehicle Supply Project’ divided into the first and second halves of the year, and has supported 1,051 units so far (677 passenger cars and 374 cargo vehicles).
