Pukyong National University Selected as ‘Education Donation Hub Support Center’ for Gyeongsang Region

National Pukyong National University has been selected as the '2023 Gyeongsang Region Education Donation Hub Support Center' organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

This project aims to create and activate an education donation collaboration network involving universities, education offices, and local communities to discover educational resources outside of schools and to reduce educational disparities between regions.

Pukyong National University was chosen as the education donation hub support center for the Gyeongsang region, including Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk, and will carry out activities to expand education donations for up to three years starting this year.

Pukyong National University will establish an education donation hub support center under the Office of Educational Innovation Performance directly under the president to discover and develop various specialized education donation programs related to marine and water resources. The university plans to form a consortium of education donation universities in the Gyeongsang region to integrate each university's education donation programs and break down barriers between universities in education donation.

Through this project, the university will support students' learning activities linked to the 2022 revised curriculum. It will also operate education donation resources tailored to the characteristics of donation beneficiaries, such as supporting Neulbom School, after-school activities linked to elementary care classrooms, and support for schools in remote areas, marginalized schools, juvenile detention centers, multicultural students, and out-of-school youth.

Additionally, as a regional education donation hub, the university plans to build and utilize regional infrastructure and networks, actively expand educational achievements through fairs, and take the lead in realizing the value of education donation and fulfilling the university's role in the local community.
