Busan National Pukyong National University will launch Korea's first anti-doping lecture.
Pukyong National University, the Korea Anti-Doping Agency (KADA), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and the Anti-Doping Research Institute of the University of Sherbrooke in Canada signed a business agreement on the afternoon of the 2nd at the president's office on the 3rd floor of the university headquarters.
This agreement aims to expand the academic base related to anti-doping, establish an anti-doping research center, and cooperate in training international sports administrators ahead of the 2025 WADA General Assembly to be held in Busan in 2025.
Following last year's special lecture by WADA President Witold Banka, Pukyong National University plans to open Korea's first anti-doping lecture next year through this agreement. This lecture will be offered in the Department of Marine Sports within the School of Smart Healthcare with cooperation from KADA, including the use of KADA's standard anti-doping textbooks.
The lecture will be conducted over 12 weeks and will systematically and professionally cover areas in anti-doping such as the history of doping, the World Anti-Doping Code, doping test program operations, prohibited substances, violation cases, and education.

Pukyong National University and KADA are preparing programs to strengthen capabilities as international sports administrators by arranging exchange sessions between students and WADA and International Olympic Committee (IOC) members attending the 2025 WADA General Assembly.
Professor Kim Dae-hee of the Marine Sports Department at Pukyong National University said, “We will strengthen cooperation in various fields such as gene doping, AI-based anti-doping program development, legislation, and policy by combining Pukyong National University's strengths in sports, biomedical engineering, and smart healthcare with the anti-doping field.”
Jang Young-su, president of Pukyong National University, said, “Based on our university's specialized capabilities, we will build cooperative networks with regional and global organizations through collaboration with international organizations. We will establish a virtuous cycle system that promotes mutual growth in the development of anti-doping academic fields, talent cultivation, and regional industry advancement.”
Kim Geum-pyeong, Secretary General of KADA, explained, “This business agreement emphasizes the importance of the anti-doping field domestically and internationally and will serve as a global model case contributing to the expansion of academic foundations in anti-doping and the cultivation of international talent through a stronger cooperative system with international organizations.”
