Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the 'Gangnam Environment Day Commemoration Event' at 2:30 PM on the 2nd at Ilwon Ecopark Eco Center, with over 200 residents participating.
At the ceremony, 22 individuals who contributed to environmental conservation, recommended by each neighborhood and environmental organizations, were awarded certificates of commendation. Two representatives of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Citizen Practice Group declared the 'Practice of Carbon Neutral Green Living.'
The district mayor and about 10 residents participated in a performance called 'Carbon Neutral City, Drawing the Future Gangnam,' where placing their palms on a large LED screen displayed key keywords of the declaration and images of the Earth.
In the experiential and promotional side events, seven environmental groups and organizations participated, operating a total of 11 booths including ▲paperless caricatures ▲renewable energy experience using bicycle generators.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “The practice of 2050 carbon neutrality is a national task and something everyone must practice in their daily lives. I hope that through this Environment Day event, many residents will join in creating a carbon-neutral city Gangnam.”
