Chairman Jeong's Second Daughter and Anchor Baek's Only Son Wedding on the 2nd
About 700 Attendees from the Hyundai Family, Business, and Entertainment Circles

Jung Ji-soo, the second daughter of HL Group Chairman Chung Mong-won, and Kang In-chan, the only son of former anchor Baek Ji-yeon, announced their wedding on the 2nd.

According to a Yonhap News report on the 2nd, their wedding ceremony was held that afternoon at Jongyo Church in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Jongyo Church is where Chairman Chung serves as an elder.

The bride, Jung Ji-soo, graduated from a university in the United States and is currently working at HL Group's US branch, while the groom, Kang In-chan, studied in the US and is known to be working in a design-related field. It is reported that the couple dated for about two years.

About 700 family members and acquaintances of the bride and groom attended the wedding, drawing attention as the extended Hyundai family gathered in one place.

The bride’s granduncle, Chung Mong-joon, chairman of the Asan Foundation; Chung Mong-yoon, chairman of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance; Chung Mong-gyu, chairman of HDC (and president of the Korea Football Association); and Chung Mong-seok, chairman of Hyundai Comprehensive Metals, were present. Also attending was Hyun Jeong-eun, chairman of Hyundai Group and wife of the late Chung Mong-hun, former Hyundai Group chairman. In addition, the bride’s sixth cousin Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group; Chung Myung-yi, president of Hyundai Commercial; and the couple Chung Tae-young, vice chairman of Hyundai Card, were also present. Other attendees included Cho Hyun-min, president of Hanjin; Kim Dong-won, president of Korea University; and actors Cha Hwa-yeon, Park Joong-hoon, Shin Ae-ra, Lee Jung-hyun, Park Sung-woong, Wi Ha-joon, and Jung Yoo-jin.

Before the wedding, on behalf of the bride and groom, former anchor Baek Ji-yeon and HL Group Chairman Chung Mong-won’s spouse Hong In-hwa briefly expressed their gratitude to the press for the congratulations.

Former anchor Baek joined MBC in 1987 and served as a news desk anchor for many years. After leaving, she worked as a university adjunct professor and freelance anchor. Hong In-hwa is also a former announcer of TBC (Tongyang Broadcasting Company). Chairman Chung Mong-won is the second son of the late Chung In-young, honorary chairman and founder of HL Group, and nephew of the late Chung Ju-yung, founder of Hyundai Group. He served as CEO of Halla Air Conditioning, Mando Machinery, and Halla Construction, receiving management training under his father before becoming the group head at the end of 1996.

This year marks the third wedding within the extended Hyundai family. In February, the eldest son of Chairman Chung Mong-gyu got married, and in April, the eldest daughter of President Chung Myung-yi and Vice Chairman Chung Tae-young held her wedding.
