Daegu Buk-gu 'Myeongsa Invitation Special Lecture' Explodes in Popularity... Following Eom Hong-gil, Professor Yoo Hong-jun's Lecture

Daegu Buk-gu Office will hold the June lecture of the ‘2023 Happy Buk-gu Celebrity Invitation Academy’ on the 23rd at the Eoul Art Center Hamji Hall.

Following the successful lecture by General Eom Hong-gil on May 22, the Happy Buk-gu Celebrity Invitation Academy special lectures, organized to satisfy residents' cultural needs and expand learning opportunities, will hold its second lecture in June.

For this lecture, Professor Yoo Hong-jun, Chair Professor at Myongji University who contributed to popularizing Korean art history, has been invited as the speaker. He will deliver an in-depth talk on the meaning of masterpieces and the identity of Korean art contained within Korean artworks, sculptures, and cultural heritage.

Professor Yoo graduated from the Department of Aesthetics at Seoul National University and began his career as an art critic after winning the Dong-A Ilbo New Year's Literary Contest for Art Criticism in 1981. He has served as a professor at Yeungnam University and Myongji University and was the 3rd Commissioner of the Cultural Heritage Administration in 2004.

His major works include My Cultural Heritage Exploration and Yoo Hong-jun’s Korean Art History Lectures. He received the Publication Ethics Award in the Author category from the Korea Publication Ethics Commission in 1998 and the Manhae Literature Award in 2003.
