In Summer, 'Red'... Watermelon Drinks Are the Trend When It's Hot

Beverages made with watermelon, a seasonal fruit in summer, are becoming a major trend.

According to the food and beverage industry on the 4th, Droptop launched four limited summer season menu items in April, including the Cool Watermelon Smoothie.

The Cool Watermelon Smoothie is made by blending high-sugar-content watermelon fruit as is, preserving the original taste of watermelon and offering customers a pleasant sweetness and coolness to beat the summer heat.

Mega Coffee recently introduced new summer menu items such as watermelon juice and watermelon hwachae smoothie, which have gained popularity with cumulative sales exceeding 800,000 units.

Among them, the watermelon hwachae smoothie includes tapioca pearls in the watermelon smoothie base to mimic watermelon seeds and is topped with a variety of fruits.

The Liter also launched two types of slushy drinks for the summer season, made by crushing ice and adding flavorings. The Watermelon Slurpee is based on watermelon, a representative summer fruit harmonized with refreshing lime, and decorated with sweet chocolate chips to resemble watermelon seeds, offering a fun chewing experience along with sweetness.

The Born Korea’s Paik’s Coffee also re-released ‘Complete Watermelon Juice’ as a seasonal menu item, captivating customers tired of the heat.
