Shinan-gun, 1388 Youth Support Group General Meeting... Professional Instructor Training Conducted

Raising Community Awareness for Discovering and Rescuing At-Risk Youth

The Jeonnam Shinan-gun (Governor Park Woo-ryang) Youth Counseling and Welfare Center held the 1388 Youth Support Group General Meeting on the 1st.

According to the county on the 2nd, the 1388 Youth Support Group is a voluntary private organization aimed at early detection of at-risk youth and providing services to youth exposed to danger. It operates in four fields?discovery and rescue, welfare and protection, medical and legal, counseling and mentoring?with 31 members actively encouraging and supporting youth in the area.

Through this general meeting, the group discussed the activity directions of the 1388 Youth Support Group and various ways to discover at-risk youth. They also invited youth experts as lecturers to enhance understanding of the necessity of the 1388 Youth Support Group and at-risk youth, and conducted training to revitalize the support group.

Kim Hae-seok, Director of the Shinan-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, said, “With the increasing trend of at-risk youth issues such as school violence, suicide and self-harm, and running away from home, we ask for the active interest and activities of the 1388 Youth Support Group members. The center will also actively support the healthy growth of youth.”

Meanwhile, the Shinan-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is available free of charge to youth experiencing difficulties such as peer relationships, career, internet and smartphone overdependence, school violence, suicide and self-harm, as well as parents in need of counseling. They can simply call the youth hotline.
