About 200 Party Branch Chairpersons to Gather
Sharing Yoon Government's Achievements and National Administration Direction
Expected to Boost Morale for General Election Victory
The People Power Party held a workshop bringing together party district chairpersons nationwide. This is the first event since the party changed its name.
About 200 city and provincial party chairpersons and district chairpersons are expected to attend this workshop. With less than a year remaining until the general election, it is an occasion to share the achievements of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration as the ruling party and the future direction of national governance, and to strengthen the resolve to win the election. Yoo Kyung-jun, the Seoul City Party Chairperson of the People Power Party, said in a phone call on the 2nd, "It will be an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and victory in the general election."

This district chairpersons' workshop is also intended to revitalize the unsettled atmosphere caused by repeated internal party controversies. The People Power Party has struggled with declining approval ratings due to successive controversies involving former lawmaker Kim Jae-won, elected as a Supreme Council member in March, and lawmaker Tae Young-ho. About a month after the party convention, the 'Emergency Committee' system was mentioned, shifting responsibility to the leadership. Subsequently, Lawmaker Tae voluntarily resigned from the Supreme Council position, and former lawmaker Kim received a severe disciplinary action of one-year suspension of party membership, bringing the issue to a temporary close.
To empower the district chairpersons, the People Power Party leadership will also attend in large numbers on this day. Representative Kim Ki-hyun, Floor Leader Yoon Jae-ok, and Supreme Council members will be present together. Policy Committee Chairperson Park Dae-chul will report on major policy issues to the district chairpersons, and Secretary-General Lee Cheol-gyu will report on party affairs.
Two special lectures have also been arranged. Former lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook will give a lecture on "Global Economic Changes and South Korea's Political Direction," and Lee Gwan-seop, Chief of National Planning at the Presidential Office, will give a lecture on "Achievements and Challenges of the Yoon Seok-yeol Government in One Year."
A district chairperson attending the workshop said, "It seems to be part of the recent regional visits by the Supreme Council to hold on-site Supreme Council meetings," adding, "This event will help strengthen internal party unity in preparation for the general election."
