Biden Falls After Giving Diploma
Multiple Falls Since Inauguration Raise Health Concerns
U.S. President Joe Biden fell during an official event. At 80 years old this year, Biden is the oldest sitting president in U.S. history and has previously been seen slipping or falling on several occasions.
According to the White House press pool on the 1st (local time), President Biden participated in an outdoor graduation ceremony held at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
After delivering his speech, Biden was awarding diplomas to the cadets and was returning to his seat when he tripped over a black sandbag on the ground and fell.
Secret Service agents and academy officials nearby immediately helped Biden up, and he got up and returned to his seat.
He appeared to point at the black sandbag with his finger, seemingly to show that he had fallen because of it.
Biden reportedly did not sustain any significant injuries. White House Press Secretary Ben LaBolt tweeted, "The President is fine," and "There was a sandbag on the stage."

Last June, Biden also fell when he got his foot caught in the pedal clip while trying to stop his bicycle at a state park near his private residence.
In March 2021, he stumbled and fell while climbing the stairs to board Air Force One, and in November 2020, when he was President-elect, he slipped while playing with his dog Major, resulting in a hairline fracture in his right ankle.
Biden underwent a routine health checkup in February, and medical staff described him as a "healthy and vigorous 80-year-old man," stating that he is "still fit for duty and fully capable of carrying out all responsibilities."
However, during the examination, a lesion identified as basal cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer) was removed from his chest, and his physician noted that no further treatment was necessary.
