Gyeonggi Office of Education Strengthens School Unification Education

Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is conducting a unification education workshop on the 1st at Seoul National University Siheung Campus for school and education support office officials in the province.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is strengthening 'unification education' based on a sound security perspective for future unification generations.

On the 1st, the Office held a 'Sympathetic School Unification Education' workshop at Seoul National University Siheung Campus for teachers in charge from 279 operating schools and officials from 25 education support offices.

Sympathetic School Unification Education is a region-customized unification education project operated in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province, tailored to the characteristics of local areas and individual schools.

This year, to foster students' unification values and cultivate a sound security perspective, experiential customized programs related to unification and veterans, as well as region-specific specialized programs, will be operated.

The workshop proceeded in the order of ▲ keynote lecture on Sympathetic School Unification Education for the digital generation ▲ presentation of excellent cases of Sympathetic School Unification Education ▲ guidance on the operation of Sympathetic School Unification Education and Q&A.

The Office of Education will hold a workshop for those in charge of the northern region on the 9th.

Kim Yoon-gi, Director of the Curriculum Policy Division at the Office of Education, emphasized, "We will focus on unification education based on a sound security perspective aligned with the direction of Gyeonggi's future education," adding, "We will actively listen to various opinions to nurture future unification generations and support the establishment of unification education in school sites."
