Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 1st that it will hold a special consumer discount event for the Jeongeup City public delivery app throughout this month.
As a campaign pledge of the 8th local government, the city opened and has been operating the Jeongeup-type public delivery app ‘Wemakeprice O’ last month to reduce the delivery app commission burden on local small business owners and to pioneer online sales channels.
The Jeongeup City public delivery app contributes to alleviating the management burden of affiliated stores by having a significantly lower commission rate of 2% for store mediation fees compared to private delivery apps, and by not charging advertising or entry fees.
Also, with various discount benefits, more than 4,000 orders were placed during May, and the number is gradually increasing.
The city has designated this month as a special consumer benefit period and provides delivery fee discount coupons of up to 3,000 KRW once a day.
New users making their first purchase this month will receive a 5,000 KRW discount coupon, and a 4,000 KRW payback will be given on the second order as well.
Payments can be made using the existing Jeongeup Love Gift Certificates, which offer a 10% discount, and a separate 1% payback on the payment amount is also provided, allowing app users to enjoy abundant benefits.
Consumers can use the app by searching for ‘Wemakeprice O’ in the Google Play Store or App Store, downloading the app, signing up, and placing an order.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “I hope this will help stabilize the management of local small business owners who are struggling due to the prolonged high inflation and worsening consumer economy, and reduce the household burden for consumers, laying the foundation for economic revitalization.”
He added, “I hope that through this month’s discount event, the Jeongeup-type public delivery app can be of some help to all citizens.”
