Selected as the Best Institution for 3 Consecutive Years, Establishing Itself as Seoul’s Leading Integrity Public Corporation
Following a Grade 2 in the Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in January, Also Received Top Evaluation in Seoul’s Assessment
President Baekho: "We Do Not Tolerate Corruption and Misconduct That Undermine Organizational Autonomy... We Will Eradicate Corruption and Misconduct"
Seoul Transportation Corporation (President Baekho) was selected as the top anti-corruption institution by achieving the highest score of 99.4 points among six investment institutions in the ‘2022 Seoul Metropolitan Government Investment and Contribution Institutions Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation.’
The corporation has been recognized as the best institution for three consecutive years, establishing itself as Seoul’s representative integrity public corporation.
The policy evaluation assesses three areas of Seoul Metropolitan Government’s investment and contribution institutions: core city administration, anti-corruption commitment, and integrity enhancement, measuring each institution’s performance in corruption prevention activities.
In this evaluation, the corporation received positive assessments for securing integrity through sufficient participation of external members in the personnel (rewards and punishments) committee and for the appropriateness of the basic integrity-related plans established by the corporation.
Additionally, the corporation achieved perfect scores in fundamental evaluations such as the operation performance of continuous monitoring and received extra points in efforts toward anti-corruption and integrity practice, demonstrating its excellence as an anti-corruption organization.
"We Will Preserve Organizational Autonomy and Become a Fair Organization"
The corporation’s integrity is highly regarded externally. Following the comprehensive integrity evaluation (excellent grade) conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced in January this year, the corporation’s efforts to improve integrity and prevent corruption have also been highly evaluated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Particularly praised are measures to strengthen contract fairness, such as focused investigations on corruption risks in direct contracts over the past three years, restrictions on frequent contracts with the same companies, management of retired employees rehired by contracting companies, and the establishment of risk management systems including improper expenditure management of project funds.
Building on last year’s vision of “Integrity as the Foundation! The Most Trusted Integrity Public Corporation by the People,” the corporation will continue various efforts this year to eradicate corrupt practices and spread an anti-corruption and integrity culture both inside and outside the organization. It demonstrates its role as an excellent integrity company by operating and monitoring a one-stop administrative process for commercial complex development (from initiation to completion) and conducting investigations into corruption during contract promotion processes.
President Baekho stated, “When I took office, I promised not to tolerate any acts that undermine organizational autonomy and to establish the corporation as a fair organization,” adding, “We will continue to root out corruption and misconduct and strive to become a transportation corporation based on creativity and expertise.”
