"Watch Movies for Free"... Bucheon City Operates Open Cinema

Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province operates a free movie screening (Open Cinema) program with the aim of creating a 'Movie City Bucheon' where movies are part of citizens' lives anytime and anywhere.

Open Cinema is operated under two themes: outdoor movie screenings (festival support and healing outdoor cinema) and indoor movie screenings.

Outdoor movie screenings are held at the lawn plaza in front of Bucheon City Hall and during event support in Bucheon City and each district, while indoor movie screenings take place at Ojeong Art Hall and Sohyang Hall.

This month, screenings are scheduled at the lawn plaza in front of Bucheon City Hall on the 9th and 23rd from 8 PM to 10 PM, and at Ojeong Art Hall on the 24th from 7 PM to 9 PM, with possible changes depending on weather conditions and sunset times.

Also, from the 29th of this month to the 9th of next month, the 27th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) will be held, and to promote the festival, free movie screenings will be held for four days from the 3rd to the 6th of next month at the City Hall lawn plaza.

In November, a free movie screening program will be operated at Bucheon City Hall Eoulmadang for high school seniors who have worked hard preparing for college entrance exams.

A Bucheon City official stated, "Although an early heatwave is expected this year, we hope families, friends, and couples can enjoy free movies together and beat the midsummer heat," adding, "We hope the free movie screening program will lay the foundation for Movie City Bucheon and help activate tourism in Bucheon."
