Park Ji-won: "Pro-Myeong vs. Anti-Myeong Conflict Due to Lee Nak-yeon's Return? That's What Sparrows Do"

"I Jae-myung, Must Engage with China and Russia"

Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won said that former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon, who is returning to Korea this month, should "actively cooperate with leader Lee Jae-myung to overcome the Democratic Party's crisis."

On the 1st, on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' former Director Park said, "Even if former leader Lee returns, he will engage in politics. Politics is the only thing he has learned, so he must do it."

He added, "If he shows a lukewarm attitude, he will never gain support from the people or party members," and said, "Therefore, we must actively unite and fight centered around leader Lee so that the party does not flounder in the pits dug by the prosecution over money envelopes and cryptocurrency."

However, some express concerns that former leader Lee's return could deepen the pro-Lee Jae-myung and anti-Lee Jae-myung factional conflict. Regarding this, former Director Park said, "That's what some sparrows say," and asked, "Is this the time for the Democratic Party to be like that? Why is the Democratic Party becoming what President Yoon Seok-yeol and the People Power Party want?"

Former Director Park said, "The Democratic Party that the people want, that is DJ's Democratic Party, must be restored for next year's general election and the next regime change to be possible. How can it become the Democratic Party that President Yoon Seok-yeol wants?" He suggested, "Regarding leader Lee's judicial risks, money envelopes, and cryptocurrency, the Democratic Party should not fall into those pits and make a fuss."

He said, "He should boldly come out and oppose the Fukushima nuclear power plant and the discharge of contaminated water from Fukushima, and also address how our economy has suffered due to China's economic pressure caused by biased diplomacy," adding, "Leader Lee should engage with China and Russia and take the initiative in such national interest diplomacy."
