Seongnam Youth Volunteer Group Launched on 31st Last Month... Anticipated Activities Including Addressing Current Issues

The Seongnam City Youth Volunteer Group has been launched.

Seongnam City announced on the 1st that on the 31st of last month, it held the inauguration ceremony of the youth community coalition organization 'Seongnam City Youth Volunteer Group,' composed of young people aged 19 to 34 residing in Seongnam City, at the Hannuri Room in City Hall, and has officially begun its activities.

The Seongnam City Youth Volunteer Group was formed under the supervision of the Seongnam City Youth Foundation in consultation with relevant departments related to youth, disasters, and rivers in Seongnam City.

The Seongnam City Youth Volunteer Group will take the lead in natural disaster recovery activities occurring in Seongnam City, starting with flood recovery efforts in the summer and snow removal activities during heavy snowfall in winter, as well as responding to city-level issues.

They will also promote planned volunteer activities proposed by youth, such as plogging volunteer work, which involves picking up trash while jogging.

The networking day, which doubled as the volunteer group's first official event, concluded with guidance on future activities, safety education necessary for disaster volunteer work, and a special invited lecture on the theme of 'The Value of Volunteer Activities During Youth.'

Shin Sang-jin, Mayor of Seongnam City, said, "There are high expectations for the official launch of Seongnam City's youth volunteer group," and added, "Seongnam City will spare no effort to provide maximum support so that they can actively carry out their activities."
