Jeungpyeong-gun is the only basic local government in the province without a police station. Although it has been 20 years since it separated from Goesan-gun in 2003, it did not have an independent police station. As the nearby Goesan Police Station was responsible for public security, causing inconvenience to the residents, the National Police Agency secured a budget to establish a new police station.
The Jeungpyeong Police Station construction project is currently undergoing detailed design and consultation for the approval of the urban planning facility project implementation plan, with a total project cost of 28.9 billion KRW. It is scheduled to be completed in 2026, with a scale of one basement floor and four above-ground floors, totaling 7,281㎡ on a 14,717㎡ site in Jeungcheon-ri, Jeungpyeong-eup.
After receiving a briefing on the police station construction, Commissioner Yoon visited the site to inspect the construction status and urged for smooth progress without any setbacks.
Subsequently, he held a meeting with local public safety cooperation organizations in Jeungpyeong to express gratitude for their cooperation in maintaining public security so far.
Commissioner Yoon stated, "The stable public security in Jeungpyeong-gun without any major incidents or accidents was greatly supported by the public safety cooperation organizations. We will address the inconveniences experienced so far and take care of necessary matters such as the construction of the police station so that residents can enjoy a safer and more peaceful daily life."
