Public Facility Safety Inspection Conducted
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province is conducting intensive safety inspections on 91 disaster-vulnerable and hazardous facilities until the 6th.
To carry out focused and practical safety inspections, the county held a public facility safety inspection using advanced drone equipment from May 30 to June 1, chaired by Deputy County Governor Kwak Geun-seok, with participation from private experts in various fields and responsible public officials.
On May 31, Deputy County Governor Kwak, along with the Director of the Safety City Division, recovery support staff, and related field experts, thoroughly inspected the overall safety status and risk factors of three facilities, including the steep slope area in Hwanggok-ri, Anui-myeon.
The county is enhancing the effectiveness of inspections by using drones to conduct practical and meticulous checks on facilities that are difficult to inspect with the naked eye, facilities that are hard or dangerous for people to access, and wide-area regions.
Earlier, on May 30, Deputy County Governor Kwak visited two bridges in the county, including Seokcheon Bridge in Anui-myeon, a lever-type bridge, and two other bridges rated C for facility safety, to inspect their overall safety management status in relation to the recent social issue of Jeongja Bridge collapse. On June 1, he plans to participate in safety inspections of three village halls in the county, which were requested through a resident application system.
The county will take immediate corrective actions on minor issues found during the safety inspections on-site, and for facilities requiring repair or reinforcement, it will ensure thorough follow-up management until the measures are completed to prevent safety accidents.
Deputy County Governor Kwak said, “Through intensive safety inspections, we will identify and address risk factors with practical and detailed checks to make Hamyang safe,” and added, “We hope that residents will also take this opportunity to conduct voluntary inspections of their own homes and stores to identify and confirm risk factors themselves.”
