Promotion of the '5G Kkumdeulim Project'
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Park Byung-gyu) announced on the 31st that it will promote the ‘5G Dream Project’ to care for neighbors in need in cooperation with the Gwangsan-gu Community Security Council and local companies.
On the same day, Gwangsan-gu held the launching ceremony of the ‘Good Companies 100+ Roundtable Meeting’ to promote the project.
Representatives of about 130 ‘Good Companies’ in the district, members of the Gwangsan-gu Community Security Council, and representatives of social welfare facility organizations participated together.
The ‘5G Dream Project’ was initiated by the active proposal of Kang Yong-seon, the private chairman of the Gwangsan-gu Community Security Council, with the meaning of gathering heart, people, strength, and happiness to create a healthy Gwangsan.
The name was decided by combining ‘Gathering,’ meaning to collect, and ‘G’ representing ‘Gwangsan,’ along with the five core values contained in the project.
Administration, companies, and private welfare organizations join forces to promote various care and welfare projects such as ▲ the ‘1313 Neighbor Care (one crisis household with three neighbor buddies)’ project to care for isolated neighbors ▲ linking private resources for citizens facing sudden crises ▲ support for children and youth of foreign residents.
The roundtable meeting launched on this day includes participation from about 130 companies belonging to the Gwangju-Jeonnam Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises Convergence, Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Inno-Biz Association, Gwangju Pyeongdong Industrial Complex Foreign Investment Companies Managers’ Association, Gwangju Employers’ Federation, and Pyeongdong Industrial Complex Resident Companies Association. These companies plan to secure resources necessary for the ‘5G Dream Project’ through sharing and sponsorship.
Based on this, the district plans to discover beneficiaries and provide welfare projects and services in cooperation with the Gwangsan-gu Community Security Council and the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation.
Kang Yong-seon, private chairman of the Gwangsan-gu Community Security Council, said, “The 5G Dream Project is a community restoration project to live together with neighbors,” and added, “I will do my utmost to help the 5G Dream Project be continuously and actively promoted.”
Park Byung-gyu, mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “The Good Companies 100+ Roundtable Meeting will become a new model of public-private-academic welfare cooperation,” and added, “We will actively support the voluntary participation and solidarity of local companies to expand and sustain.”
