The Teachers' Credit Union announced on the 31st that it held the ‘Marche Vegetable Market@Yeouido’ at its Yeouido office building.
This event was planned to practice the Teachers' Credit Union's ESG management, enhance participants' environmental awareness, and provide experiences of consuming eco-friendly products. Following last year, this was the second Marche Vegetable Market hosted by the Teachers' Credit Union, with participation from 37 teams of eco-friendly crop producers, about 420 union executives and employees, and nearby residents.
Additionally, to commemorate ‘Sea Day’ on May 31, a talk workshop to promote sustainable seafood consumption culture and a sea glass upcycling workshop were held. A ‘Zero Waste Event’ was operated, offering gifts, extras, or discounts to 200 people who brought their own containers or shopping bags, along with a ‘Reuse Booth’ where recycled packaging materials such as paper bags and glass bottles could be freely used.
Kim Sang-gon, Chairman of the Teachers' Credit Union, said, “It is time to seek a new change in awareness toward environmentally friendly consumption for a sustainable environment,” adding, “The Teachers' Credit Union will continue to actively participate in eco-friendly activities and take the lead in realizing environmental management for the education family and future generations.”
‘Farmer's Market Marche’ is a representative farmers market in Seoul that has been opening markets since 2012 for farmers who cultivate pesticide-free and earth-friendly crops, supporting eco-friendly farms and playing a role as a non-profit organization to support sustainable food culture for both the environment and consumers.
