The Japanese government lifted the emergency evacuation order for residents of Okinawa Prefecture in the early morning of the 31st.
According to NHK reports, at around 7:04 a.m., the Japanese government lifted the emergency evacuation order through the nationwide alert system (J-ALERT), which delivers urgent information to local governments via satellite in the morning, stating that "the missile is not expected to reach Japan."
Earlier, at around 6:30 a.m., the Japanese government urged people in Okinawa to take shelter in buildings or underground, saying "it appears that a missile has been launched from North Korea."
The Ministry of Defense announced that something possibly a ballistic missile was launched from North Korea.
Previously, North Korea had announced that it would launch a military reconnaissance satellite between the 31st and the 11th of next month to enhance surveillance of the United States.
