New York Cultural Center to Host Fusion Band 'Dubeonjjaedal' Concert at Lincoln Center Next Month

The ethnic fusion band 'Dubeonjjaedal,' which performed on the stage of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics closing ceremony, will perform next month at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan, New York.

The Korean Cultural Center in New York announced on the 30th that, in collaboration with the Lincoln Center, it will hold the band Dubeonjjaedal's concert "Moonlight Flows" at the David Rubenstein Atrium on the 8th of next month (local time).

Dubeonjjaedal is a band well known to the public through the OSTs of dramas such as "Island," "Goong," and "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." Since 2017, they have challenged traditional Korean music projects and have been actively involved in various activities, including performing at the Pyeongchang Olympics closing ceremony stage. In this concert, they will present their uniquely reinterpreted musical world to New Yorkers.

Additionally, audiences can experience a stage where next-generation sorikkun (traditional Korean vocalists) O Danhae performs traditional Korean music pieces such as "Sarangga," "Ibyeolga," and "Kwaejina Chingchingnane," accompanied by Dubeonjjaedal's instrumentation. O Danhae, a holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 5 Pansori "Simcheongga," has won awards such as the Gold Prize in the general division of the Onnara Gugak Competition and the top prize in the general division of the Jeonju Daesaseupnori Pansori contest.

This concert, held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance, is free of charge. However, admission will be closed once capacity is reached on a first-come, first-served basis.
