Dong-Eui University produced three successful candidates in the ‘2023 Regional Talent Level 7 Trainee Employee Selection Examination’ organized by the Ministry of Personnel Management.
The simultaneous success of three candidates from Dong-Eui University is the second highest number among universities in the Busan area, following Busan National University.
The successful candidates from Dong-Eui University in the Level 7 Trainee Employee Selection Examination are Kim Ga-won, Class of 2018, Department of English for Administrative Affairs; Lee Han-na, Class of 2019, Major in Police Administration; and Kim Dong-wook, Class of 2015, Major in Mechanical Engineering in the technical field.
They are scheduled to complete basic training for public service adaptation and job competency improvement in the first half of next year, undergo a one-year trainee period at central administrative agencies, and then be appointed as general Level 7 public officials.
Kim Ga-won said, “I am very interested in youth support policies and hope to work in related policy tasks,” adding, “My score in the basic calculation section was very low, but I overcame this weakness by focusing on practicing calculations, which was the key to my success.”
Lee Han-na said, “I want to utilize my major and work in the Ministry of Justice protecting crime victims,” advising, “The Regional Talent Level 7 exam requires concentration and stamina, so consistent and efficient study is necessary.”
Kim Dong-wook said, “I want to be in charge of digitalization of nationwide road management at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport,” and added, “I hope juniors prepare themselves firmly and many of them challenge the exam.”
The Regional Talent Level 7 Trainee Employee Selection Examination was introduced in 2005 to evenly recruit regional talents and strengthen regional representation in public service. Until 2009, 50 candidates were selected annually, and the number of successful candidates has been increasing every year since then.
The candidates are selected from graduates (or prospective graduates) ranked in the top 10% of their department’s academic performance and recommended by their school principal. The final selection is made through a written exam (PSAT and Constitution), document screening, and interview.
Dong-Eui University plans to invite the three successful candidates of 2023 on June 9 to hold a meeting for 2024 exam candidates and current students, including lectures on exam and success strategies and a Q&A session.
