Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, announced on the 30th that he will do his best to expedite the early construction of the Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX) Line B and to establish new stops on the Suin Line.
On the same day, Mayor Yoo met with residents at the Incheon Lifelong Learning Center and responded to an online citizen petition requesting to keep the pledge of establishing new stops on the GTX-B Suin Line.
He emphasized, "The addition of new stations on GTX-B is an essential project to enhance the efficiency of the metropolitan railway network through transfers between the Suin Line and the 2nd Gyeongin Line, as well as to promote balanced development between regions."
He added, "Since the establishment of new stations requires a project cost of at least 200 billion KRW, we are systematically responding by formulating a comprehensive plan regarding funding and are closely consulting with central government ministries, private operators, and related organizations."
