On the 30th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the 'Buk-gu Senior Filial Piety Music Concert' on the 31st at Donggang University Gymnasium, inviting over 900 seniors from the district, in collaboration with the Korea Sharing Federation.
This event was organized with the purpose of providing joyful cultural performances to seniors who have been exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, offering them enjoyment and mental relaxation.
Hosted by comedian Kim Jeong-ryeol, the stage will be filled with passionate performances by trot singers such as Hyun-sook, Park Il-jun, Minji, and Moon Yeon-ju, along with various shows including popera, royal court hanbok fashion show, magic performances, and belly dance.
Additionally, about 60 volunteers will attend to convey respect and gratitude to the seniors and assist with the event to ensure a comfortable viewing experience.
Ahn Cheon-woong, Secretary General of the Korea Sharing Federation, said, "We are pleased to be able to prepare a meaningful event for seniors together with Buk-gu," adding, "We hope the attending seniors have an enjoyable and happy time."
A Buk-gu official stated, "We hope this event will help practice the spirit of filial piety and spread a culture of respecting the elderly," and added, "We will continue to discover and promote various welfare projects for the health and happiness of seniors."
