Uiryeong Toyoae Distribution, Chodang Corn Shipment

Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, started shipping Chodang corn in 2023 along with a success prayer ceremony for Chodang corn at the Junggok collection center in Nakseo-myeon, Dongbu Nonghyup, with the participation of about 30 people including the Agricultural Technology Center, Toyoae Distribution, and Chodang corn farmers.

Uiryeong-gun cultivates 115 hectares of Chodang corn based on fertile land along the Nakdong River and clear water quality. In particular, Nakseo-myeon has a cultivation area of 84 hectares, making it the largest single cultivation area nationwide.

Toyoae Distribution started contract cultivation of Chodang corn this year, purchasing the entire harvest and promoting stable income for farmers through shipments to large distribution companies and Green Labs of Farm Morning.

The shipment on the 26th involved 17 Chodang corn farming households, purchasing about 424 bundles worth approximately 1.1 billion KRW, and plans to expand the business volume in the future.

Jae-deok Oh, CEO of Toyoae Distribution, said, “We are doing our best to secure stable shipment channels desired by Chodang corn farmers and will ensure that all agricultural products produced by farmers are shipped at good prices and conditions.”
