On the 30th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam opened the first senior store in Gyeongnam, a 24-hour convenience store operated jointly by young and middle-aged adults and seniors.
The senior store is a social contribution-type convenience store operated by GS25 in partnership with the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to create jobs for the local senior population.
The GS Senior Store - Seongsan Prugio branch, which opened on this day, is operated by the Seongsan Senior Club, a senior job support organization, and is the first senior store in Gyeongnam.
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam opened the first 24-hour convenience store in Gyeongnam, called Senior Store, operated jointly by young adults and seniors.
This initiative creates 16 new jobs for seniors, with seniors working in four shifts during the day and young and middle-aged professionals working at night, operating an intergenerational senior job project where seniors and younger generations work together.
Seo Hogwan, Director of Welfare and Women’s Affairs, said, “We will do our best to create quality senior jobs in various fields within the local community and to foster a community where seniors and young and middle-aged adults work together.”
Meanwhile, this year, Changwon City’s senior job project is being promoted with a total of 12,832 participants and a budget of 44.2 billion won, accelerating efforts to promote quality senior job projects by increasing the volume of social service-type and market-type jobs.
