422 Billion KRW Support for Outstanding Humanities and Social Sciences Research... 1,464 New Projects Selected

The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea announced on the 30th that they have selected 1,464 new projects for the 2023 humanities and social sciences academic support program, providing a total of 42.2 billion KRW in funding.

The humanities and social sciences academic support program is divided into three categories: ▲individual (joint) research ▲group research ▲academic infrastructure development. The projects selected this time correspond to eight individual (joint) research projects starting from the 1st of next month.

The support scale increased by 1.8 billion KRW from 40.4 billion KRW last year, and the Ministry of Education explained that this year, support for the next generation of scholars in the individual research field has been significantly strengthened.

The budget for new projects supporting humanities and social sciences research professors, who are non-tenured researchers holding a doctoral degree and receive 40 million KRW annually, increased by 78% from 9 billion KRW last year to 16 billion KRW this year.
