The National Library of Korea under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is holding the 2023 Librarians' Festival Linked Video Content Contest until July 10. The contest aims to share the educational training achievements of library staff nationwide and to discover excellent educational content.
The contest themes are related to the National Library of Korea's librarian training courses and include four categories: ▲Outstanding cases of librarians applying and improving training content conducted by the National Library of Korea at their affiliated libraries ▲Book promotion videos (book trailers) recommended by libraries (staff) ▲“Librarian, My Story” focusing on experiences and rewards as a librarian ▲Children and youth service cases.
The judging will be conducted in two rounds: the first round by experts and the second round by on-site voting. Only works that pass the first round will proceed to the second round of voting (online and on-site voting).
The grand prize winner will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a prize, while excellent works in each contest category will be awarded the Director of the National Library of Korea Award and a prize.
The contest is open to library staff nationwide, either individually or as groups, and submissions are accepted via email.
Kim Seok-il, Head of the Library Talent Development Division at the National Library of Korea, stated, “I hope this contest will help discover the hidden talents of library librarians and serve as an opportunity to increase interest in the National Library of Korea’s librarian training for developing librarian capabilities and improving library services.”
