The Sangsang Junior Board is a corporate culture improvement council that aims to create a better workplace by facilitating communication between young employees and management. For the 3rd term, a total of eight members were selected nationwide from headquarters, sales, and manufacturing through an internal recruitment process. The selected members will serve as ‘communicators’ representing the 20s and 30s generations, leading organizational culture improvements over the next 10 months.
The 3rd term will act as ‘KT&G Futurists,’ promoting corporate culture innovation at a global standard level to achieve the group’s future vision of becoming a ‘Global Top-tier’ company. Additionally, in line with the management environment emphasizing aggressive global business expansion and ‘global corporate members’ who break down national boundaries, they plan to improve working methods through spreading vision consensus and holding town hall meetings with management.
KT&G President Baek Bok-in personally participated in the appointment ceremony for the 3rd term of the Sangsang Junior Board. To encourage open communication between management and employees, the 3rd term members appointed President Baek Bok-in as an ‘Honorary Sangsang Junior Board 3rd Term’ member and held a certificate awarding ceremony.
Early in his tenure, President Baek Bok-in established the ‘Sangsang Realization Committee,’ a council for organizational culture improvement, to implement the management philosophy of ‘communication and empathy.’ Since 2021, he has taken the lead in communication management by launching the Sangsang Junior Board to strengthen communication with the 20s and 30s generations, which are future growth engines.
Furthermore, the recently concluded 2nd term of the Sangsang Junior Board led efforts to build a ‘Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)’ culture that recognizes individual values beyond generations and ranks. They introduced KT&G’s D&I slogan and a D&I pledge for employees, promoting respect for diversity and organizational culture improvement based on an inclusive attitude.
President Baek Bok-in of KT&G stated, “Improving corporate culture and innovating working methods from a new perspective will be the fundamental competitiveness in realizing the ‘Global Top-tier’ vision,” adding, “Together with the 3rd term of the Sangsang Junior Board, we will do our best to establish a corporate culture where all members are respected and create a company where people are passionate about working.”
