In his victory speech, President Erdogan also promised to proceed with the gas hub project proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Russian news agencies TASS and Sputnik.

He said, "We will attract investments in essential infrastructure such as transportation and energy needed for development to further strengthen Turkey's position as an international hub," adding, "President Putin sent a congratulatory message on my election and mentioned the establishment of a hub in the Turkish region of Traze. Traze will become a hub, and we will work together with them."

Although Turkey is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), President Erdogan, who has shown a pro-Russian stance, has been discussing with President Putin ways to make Turkey a supply hub for Russian natural gas.

Foreign media also reported that President Erdogan cited earthquake recovery and inflation resolution as the top priorities of his administration.
