On the 26th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it promoted the 'Reduce 1kWh a Day' campaign to improve residents' awareness of energy conservation.
The campaign, held around Juknokwon, Damyang's representative tourist attraction, was attended by 40 people from Jeollanam-do, Damyang-gun, and the Korea Electric Power Corporation Damyang branch.
This campaign was conducted to guide residents and tourists on how to practice the nationwide 'Reduce 1kWh a Day' initiative and to spread consensus on energy conservation.
The 'Nationwide Reduce 1kWh a Day' can be practiced in daily life by raising the air conditioner setting temperature by 1℃ and maintaining an appropriate indoor temperature of 26℃ during summer, turning off unused lights, unplugging unused electronic devices, and reducing the warming time of electric rice cookers.
An official from the county said, "Ahead of the summer season when electricity demand increases, we ask residents to familiarize themselves with practical actions they can take in daily life and actively participate in energy conservation."
