"Firmly Rejecting Illegal Work Orders" Nurses Launch Compliance Struggle Button Campaign

The nursing community, opposing the exercise of the veto power (reconsideration request) on the Nursing Act, has launched a 'law-abiding struggle' and started wearing buttons demanding the refusal of illegal work orders and the enactment of the Nursing Act.

The Korean Nurses Association announced on the 26th that it produced and distributed 140,000 'Law-abiding Struggle Nursing Act Enactment' buttons to 16 branches nationwide to support nurses' law-abiding struggle. The buttons bear the phrase, "Nurses' law-abiding struggle protects the people."

The association encouraged nurses to wear the buttons on their uniforms to show their determination to refuse illegal work orders from doctors. Participating nurses are announcing their entry into the law-abiding struggle by posting photos on their social networking services (SNS).

Kim Young-kyung, president of the Korean Nurses Association, said, "Through wearing the law-abiding struggle Nursing Act enactment buttons, we want to inform that nurses are engaging in a law-abiding struggle to protect the public, and we will firmly refuse illegal work orders from doctors."
