Renault Korea Creates Mobility Experience Hub in Metaverse

Renault Korea Motors announced on the 25th that it will create 'RENAULT KOREA-Hub,' a mobility experience space in The Sandbox's metaverse.


RENAULT KOREA-Hub will be located in The Sandbox's second K-verse site, aiming for full operation this fall. The Sandbox is a blockchain-based metaverse platform. The subtitle of this second K-verse land sale is 'Hallyu Rising.'


As the first domestic automaker to establish a presence in The Sandbox, RENAULT KOREA-Hub will be a space where users can enjoy various experiences and games centered around automobiles, such as developing vehicles with their own designs and engaging in interesting daily activities with cars. Additionally, it will showcase Renault Korea vehicles implemented in voxel form, along with introducing Renault Korea's unique technologies, design philosophy, and the diverse stories embedded in each vehicle.


Stephan Deblaise, President of Renault Korea, emphasized, "Renault Korea's project connecting customers' mobility experiences with digital life will evolve further through integration with AI technologies in the future."

Renault Korea has named its efforts to connect customers' real mobility environments with digital life as the 'Digital Journey.' As its first project last October, it conducted the 'Create Your Epic Car' campaign, where users could create their own cars in the metaverse and issue them as NFTs. In November, it held Meta Unpacked, an event to experience new cars in the metaverse space, coinciding with the launch of the XM3 E-TECH Hybrid.


Earlier this year, Renault Korea offered experiences of its connectivity service, Car Payment, at the Seoul Mobility Show Renault R:Xperience Zone and the Gangnam Shinsegae Popup in Seoul. Alongside this, it operated an AI avatar experience zone and the create your SM6 campaign zone, allowing users to enjoy digital experiences even in offline spaces. The 'create your SM6' campaign, which uses AI technology to newly create personalized SM6 vehicles and mint them as NFTs, recorded nearly 20,000 customer participations during the campaign period in May.
