10,000 KRW Per Night Per Room
Modetour announced on the 26th that it will expand its compensation plan up to 900,000 KRW on a moral basis for travelers affected by the 'super typhoon' Mawar that struck Guam and Saipan.
Modetour had previously set the compensation for additional local stays caused by natural disasters at "200,000 KRW per room, limited to one time," but considering the exceptional situation in Guam where the runway is closed until June 1st, the compensation plan has been expanded to "100,000 KRW per room per night, up to 900,000 KRW."
Due to the impact of this typhoon, all flights at Guam and Saipan airports have been suspended since the 23rd. Saipan resumed flights from that day, but Guam expects the airport to normalize by June 1st. Currently, 240 Modetour travelers are staying in Guam.
Joa Jae-kwang, Head of Modetour's Product Division, said, "Fortunately, no customers were injured due to this typhoon, but since the stay period is expected to be extended, we decided to expand the compensation plan on a moral basis. We are checking the local situation in real time with local partners to minimize customer inconvenience and will do our best to ensure the safety of all customers so they can return home safely."
