Autonomous Flight Drone Technology Expected to Excel in Reconnaissance and Surveillance Tasks
Autonomous flight drone solution startup NearsLab (CEO Choi Jae-hyuk) announced on the 26th that it has been selected as a partner company of the Daejeon Defense Venture Center. The Daejeon Defense Venture Center is operated by the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, a specialized research institution in the defense sector.
NearsLab has been conducting safety inspection projects for wind turbines using autonomous flight drone solutions. Utilizing drones in wind farms with strong winds requires various aerospace technologies such as optimal route setting, stable attitude control, accurate target identification, and distance maintenance.
NearsLab believes that applying these technologies to reconnaissance or surveillance can achieve effective results with fewer personnel. As a result of being selected as a partner company through this agreement, NearsLab will receive support in overall defense commercialization, including discovering military commercialization tasks and test evaluation support.
Choi Jae-hyuk, CEO of NearsLab, said, "NearsLab's autonomous flight drone solution has been recognized for its stability and technological excellence, being used in more than 25 countries," adding, "We hope that through this agreement, the autonomous flight drone solution can contribute to defense projects."
