At the Seungjin Science Training Center in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, a combined US-ROK joint firepower annihilation exercise was conducted. This exercise, held for the first time in six years since 2017, was carried out on the largest scale ever to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the US-ROK alliance.

Starting with the first exercise on this day and continuing through next month with a total of five sessions, approximately 2,500 soldiers from 71 US-ROK units, including the ROK Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and the US 210th Field Artillery Brigade stationed in Korea, participated. Our military's latest stealth fighter F-35A, K-2 tanks, as well as US forces' Apache helicopters, multiple rocket launchers, and chemical reconnaissance armored vehicles, totaling about 610 pieces of equipment, were deployed.

The exercise was based on a scenario to repel a North Korean attack and launch a counterattack by mobilizing the combined US-ROK forces. A shower of artillery fire rained down on the Myeongseongsan area where the training ground is located. Before the exercise began, 80 drones including reconnaissance drones and suicide drones accurately formed key training keywords such as ‘US-ROK Alliance’ in the sky. Within one hour of the exercise, hundreds of green signal flares signaling the victory of the US-ROK combined forces exploded in the sky.
