Held from the 24th to the 26th across Wando-gun
On the 25th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that 106 athletes from the Hwasun-gun disabled athletes team will participate in the 31st Jeollanam-do Disabled Sports Competition, which will be held in Wando for three days starting from the 24th.
The competition, held at 21 venues including the Cheonghaejin Sports Center in Wando-gun, will take place under the slogan "Let's Run Together as One on the Healthy Island of Wando!" with about 15,000 participants, promising an exciting sports event.
The Hwasun-gun disabled athletes team will participate in 11 of the 21 official events (billiards, lawn bowls, sitting volleyball, badminton, bowling, weightlifting, athletics, indoor rowing, table tennis, gateball, and park golf) to fully demonstrate the skills they have honed, aiming to increase sports activities and promote health among people with disabilities.
In particular, since the team achieved excellent results in last year's competition, including a triple crown in weightlifting and a gold medal in bowling, they are expected to enter the medal ranks again in this competition.
A county official stated, "We hope this competition will serve as an opportunity to foster friendship and great harmony among disabled organizations," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to promote sports activities for people with disabilities and do our best to nurture and support athletes in each event."
