Zhengzhou is an inland logistics hub located in central-western China and a key city in the rise of central China. It is home to the Foxconn factory that produces iPhones, and manufacturing industries such as mobile phones and electronic components are well developed. Additionally, new battery factories for electric vehicle manufacturers and robot industry-related projects are underway near Zhengzhou, indicating significant potential for new demand development in the future.

Korean Air currently operates cargo flights to five cities in China: Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Xi'an, and Hong Kong. With the addition of the Zhengzhou route, the airline expects to expand its air logistics network and develop the central-western China market.

A Korean Air official stated, "The launch of the new cargo flight to Zhengzhou coincides with the normalization of production in China due to the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, serving as a foundation for creating new demand and expanding our revenue base. We plan to secure competitiveness in the China cargo routes and take the lead in the market."
