On the 24th, Lee appeared at the National Assembly's Steering Committee plenary session and responded to the claim that "tritium is twice as dangerous as cesium" by saying, "Such statements are truly fake news that do not align with scientific facts."

He added, "Spreading such fake news can cause excessive health concerns among the public and lead to social confusion."

Lee explained, "Tritium is expelled from the human body within a week or ten days after entering," and stated, "The amount of tritium in the contaminated water from Fukushima is less than the amount of tritium produced by our country's nuclear power plants. This amount will be discharged over a period of 30 years."
