Hankook Tire Opens 3rd Branch of 'Donggeurami Car Wash'

Kumho Tire & Technology (hereinafter Kumho Tire)'s subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled, Korea Donggurami Partners, announced on the 24th that it has opened the 3rd branch of the 'Donggurami Car Wash' at the high-tech research institute 'Korea Technodome' located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

Disabled employees who have completed professional car wash skills and job training provide high-quality services at reasonable prices, making it a highly satisfactory welfare benefit for employees.

Korea Donggurami Partners, the first subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled established by Kumho Tire in the domestic tire industry, operates various businesses in addition to car wash services. It started in 2015 with a total of 78 employees (42 disabled, 36 non-disabled), and currently employs 159 people (90 disabled, 69 non-disabled). They contribute to improving members' welfare through 'car wash services,' 'cafes,' 'laundry services,' 'bakeries,' and 'office administration' at Kumho Tire headquarters, Daejeon plant, Geumsan plant, and Korea Technodome.

Recognized for these achievements, in April, they received the Presidential Citation in the disabled worker category of the government awards for promoting employment of the disabled, selected as a model case for creating jobs for the disabled. Previously, in 2019, they received the certification for excellent employers of disabled employment and the Prime Minister's Award for promoting employment of the disabled, and in 2018, the Minister of Health and Welfare Award for intellectual developmental disabilities.

As a company operating a subsidiary-type standard workplace for the disabled, Kumho Tire plans to actively lead activities to protect the rights of disabled people and expand stable jobs, including improving treatment for long-term retention of disabled employees, establishing a safe and pleasant working environment, and operating early adaptation programs for work.
