Shinsegae Academy Targets Summer Vacation + Holidays
Expands Cultural Arts Courses, New Family Participation Classes Popular

Shinsegae Academy announced on the 23rd that it has significantly increased the number of culture and arts courses for the upcoming summer semester starting next month. They explained that the popularity of family-oriented participatory courses prepared for the summer vacation and holiday season is high.

Shinsegae stated that for the summer semester starting in June, they will offer about 7,300 courses, a 27.9% increase compared to last summer semester, including 'Summer Travel Illustrations Drawn with a Tablet PC' and 'Learning French for Children through Play.'

They have also newly prepared family participatory courses that can be enjoyed with children on vacation. Representative examples include the 'Kids Museum Tour,' where children can directly see and learn about cultural heritage from different eras at the National Museum of Korea, and the 'Live Musical' tailored to a child's perspective for the whole family to enjoy. The Kids Museum Tour, held in July, allows children to directly observe artifacts from different periods such as the Prehistoric Hall, Three Kingdoms Hall, Goryeo Hall, and Joseon Hall, and learn about history. Some tour schedules have been fully booked early due to popularity.

Courses featuring content that can add something special to summer vacations, such as photography and illustration, have also been prepared. These include 'Beginner Photography Class for Office Workers,' 'Basic DSLR Photo Essay,' and 'Summer Travel Illustrations Drawn with an iPad.' At Shinsegae Department Store’s main branch and Gangnam branch, salon concerts such as 'Cinema Paradiso' and 'Concerto vs Concerto,' performed by world-renowned classical guitarist Jang Daegun and cellist Kim Hye-eun, will also be presented. Music appreciation courses have been expanded as well, including 'Classic Bucket List: Masterpieces,' where you can enjoy representative classical concertos with commentary from a music columnist, and 'Classical Music with World History,' which explores changes in classical music along the flow of history.
