Haman-gun New Public Officials Capacity Building Workshop Held

Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province held the 2023 New Public Officials Workshop over two days on the 22nd and 23rd at the Yeohangsan Culture Center and throughout the county.


The resumed workshop was organized for 32 newly appointed public officials from 2022 to 2023 to enhance their basic competencies and cultivate qualities as county public servants through exploring county landmarks.

On the first day, job competency enhancement training was conducted through lectures on ‘Haman-gun Organization and Personnel System’ by the personnel officer, ‘Budget Planning and Execution Process’ by the budget officer, ‘Customer Service Courtesy Training’ by the civil affairs officer, and ‘Public Officials’ Welfare and Official Document Writing Training’ by the public officials’ association officer.


On the second day, participants visited the 2nd plenary session hall of the 291st Haman-gun Council temporary meeting, gaining valuable firsthand experience of council democracy by observing various bill processing procedures.


Additionally, through visits and tourism experiences at major county tourist attractions and historic sites such as Seongsan Fortress, Mujinjeong Pavilion, Mari Mountain Tumuli, Goryeodong, and Agyang Ecological Park, participants also took time to consider the county’s tourism development direction ahead of the Mari Mountain Tumuli’s UNESCO World Heritage registration.


County Governor Jo Geun-je said, “In a rapidly changing society, the role of new public officials is very important for the county to take the lead. I hope each new public official takes pride as a pioneer who will design and lead the county’s future and dedicates themselves to public service.”


A county official stated, “We expect this workshop to contribute to improving the job capabilities of new public officials, and we will continue to prepare various educational programs to help new public officials quickly adapt to public service.”
