Gumi-si Childcare Comprehensive Support Center Emerges as a Hot Place Gumi City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center.

The city announced that through excellent facilities and the operation of various programs (37 programs), the monthly number of users has exceeded 5,000 (an average of 200 per day) due to high interest and response from parents with infants and young children.

The center began a pilot operation in February and conducted a user satisfaction survey over two months, collecting and reflecting optimal operation plans desired by citizens, thereby promoting customized childcare support projects that have continuously attracted visitors.

The toy library within the center holds about 1,000 toys, 200 books, and around 30 dolsang (first birthday table) and dolbok (first birthday clothes) items, with an average of 60 users per day. Through toy rentals, it reduces the economic burden on parents and provides children with opportunities to experience various toys.

Additionally, the infant experience playroom featuring the scenery of Geumosan Mountain and the toddler experience playroom with a space-themed background serve as indoor playgrounds focused on physical play, attracting an average of 100 users daily. The outdoor playground and photo zone, harmonized with the park, offer a play space where children can run freely, receiving praise from users as facilities that are fun and exciting to play in.

In particular, the hourly childcare room is a service that parents with infants aged 6 months to under 36 months can use by the hour when temporary childcare is needed due to hospital visits, outings, or short-term work. It has a high satisfaction rate among young dual-income couples and contributes to reducing childcare burdens.

Moreover, the city provides various childcare services that greatly improve the local childcare environment, including daycare center support projects such as childcare staff education and substitute teacher support, home childcare support projects such as parent-child experience programs, childcare hardship counseling, and parent education, as well as regional specialized projects like family forest experience programs, children's musicals, and family film festivals.

Kim (34 years old, Sandong-eup), a user of the center, expressed gratitude for the provision of diverse childcare information, saying, “Through parent education and counseling, I was able to resolve difficulties in childcare and learn practical methods for parenting at home through programs with my child.”

Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, “We will continue to reflect the voices of children and users to provide high-quality childcare support services and do our best to make Gumi a happy city for children, parents, and teachers, and a city good for raising children.”

The Gumi City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center is available to guardians or prospective parents of preschool infants and young children residing in Gumi City, as well as daycare center childcare staff. Users can join as annual members through the center’s website. For more details, inquiries can be made via the website or by phone.
