Lotte Wellfood (formerly Lotte Confectionery) announced on the 23rd that it has launched 'Lip Pie Choco' as a successor product to the beloved 'Lip Pie' from the past.

This is the first time Lip Pie products have been reintroduced in 8 years since their discontinuation in 2015. During this time, Lip Pie fans continuously requested a re-release through the Lotte Wellfood website and other channels. In response, Lotte Wellfood explained that they have re-launched Lip Pie Choco with enhanced taste and quality.

Lip Pie Choco is differentiated by a chocolate coating on the bottom. The chocolate, made from Ghanaian cocoa beans, offers a smooth sweetness. True to its identity as a classic pastry dessert, it retains the rich buttery flavor and crispiness that were the hallmarks of the original Lip Pie. The dough is fermented at low temperature for 1080 minutes to enrich the flavor of the butter, and the pastry dough, consisting of 160 layers, adds to Lip Pie’s distinctive crispiness, the company added.

Lotte Wellfood prepared for over three years to develop Lip Pie Choco, conducting dozens of on-site tests. They made various attempts to maximize the pastry’s unique crispy texture and went through multiple trials and errors to perfect the chocolate coating, which differentiates it from the past product. Thanks to this, the company emphasized that they have introduced a product where flavor, crispiness, and sweetness harmonize.

Lip Pie Choco is available through Lotte Wellfood’s official online mall 'Sweet Mall' as well as various online channels and offline channels such as large supermarkets.
